The opportunity
As an Animal Management Officer, you'll play an important role in promoting community safety, animal welfare and responsible pet ownership across the municipality. Working primarily in the field, you'll undertake patrols, investigations and compliance activities while educating the community, responding to customer enquiries and ensuring animal management legislation is applied fairly and professionally.
What you’ll do
Conduct animal patrols, inspections and compliance activities.
Respond to animal-related enquiries, requests and complaints.
Investigate incidents and prepare enforcement documentation.
Promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.
Manage matters involving dangerous, menacing and restricted breed dogs
What you need to succeed
Experience in animal management, compliance or enforcement roles.
Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations.
Experience conducting investigations and evidence gathering.
Strong communication, conflict resolution and customer service skills.
Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation (or willingness to obtain).

Pre-Employment Requirements
Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
