What You'll Do:

The Apprentice Parks Attendant is responsible for assisting the Parks and Biosecurity team with the presentation of our open space network which incorporates passive open space, sporting fields, parks and playgrounds, gardens, cemeteries, street scapes and trees within the open space network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the maintenance and beautification of our parks and public spaces
  • Learn the ins and outs of horticulture, landscaping, and environmental care
  • Work alongside experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience
  • Operate a range of plant and equipment.

 

Ideal candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who is ready to start their career in Parks & Gardens and is committed to competing a formal qualification who:

  • Has a keen interest in parks and horticulture
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • No prior experience needed – just bring your passion and enthusiasm!

 

Location: This role is based in Moama with some travel throughout the council are as required.

  • salary is in line with the Local Government (State) Award 2023 ranging from $36,800 to $43,024 depending on age.

To be successful you will also need

  • A current Driver’s Licence
  • NSW Working with Children’s Check
