See the difference you make every day caring for the trees that shape our city.

Across Blacktown City’s parks, streets and open spaces, our canopy tells the story of a growing and diverse community. As an Arborist, you’ll help maintain those landscapes – climbing, pruning and caring for the trees and vegetation that keep our city shaded and thriving.

You’ll work alongside people who value doing things properly. The work is varied and hands-on – aerial climbing, rigging, pruning, removals, planting, using chippers and stump grinders, and supporting the establishment of new trees across parks and streetscapes. Every job has a clear purpose, and every day you can see the impact of what you do.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams – and great teams build great cities. Here, you’ll find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a secure, permanent role with one of Australia’s largest councils
  • an entry level salary for this position starts at $1,408.84 per week
  • a 38-hour working week
  • a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • 12% superannuation and generous leave
  • ongoing training, tickets and development support
  • Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.

If you’re a capable climbing arborist who enjoys real, practical work and wants to use your skills where they make a visible difference, we’d love to hear from you.
