What’s the role all about 

Are you an Asset Management Practitioner with a Community First mantra? City of Port Phillip are seeking a passionate and driven Asset Planner for the Public Spaces portfolio.  The role will lead the development of Asset Management Plans defining inspection, operations, maintenance, capital renewal and upgrade budgets for the Public Spaces portfolio which includes; Sports, Irrigation and Recreation facilities, Parks, Playspaces and Equipment, Street Furniture and Structures.

Ideally this role would suit a pro-active, strategic thinking, technical specialist with good stakeholder management and communication skills.  You will lead collaborative working groups striving to improve asset management practices focussed on what matters and delivers value the community and meeting Council’s organisational objectives.

What you might do 

  • Lead collaborative cross-functional working groups to ensure delivery of what is valued by community and are cost efficient.
  • Drive asset management improvements that support prioritised evidence-based decision making for asset investment planning and optimisation
  • Initiate collection, storage and update of asset data within the enterprise Asset Management Information and utilise it for establishing asset lifecycle activities.
  • Be able to communicate complex technical strategies in a concise and simple manner

Who we are looking for 

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, urban planning or asset management/planning
  • Demonstrated relevant skills and experience in similar environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge relevant legislation and compliance related obligations
  • Ability to manage time, plan prioritise and organise their own work
  • Victorian drivers licence
