The Role

We are looking for a people person to connect and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive environmental outcomes and programs. The role will work to increase environmental stewardship in the community and organisation, connecting and coordinating people and programs to optimise on-ground outcomes for the natural environment.

About You

We are the lively new Sustainable Environment Team committed to a sustainable Ballarat and region. We work with high levels of autonomy and creativity to influence internal and external stakeholders in the pursuit of more sustainable outcomes for biodiversity, Environmentally Sustainable Development (ESD), climate action, electrification, Integrated Water Management, waste and circular economy, and more.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications and Experience as listed in the Position Description.
  • Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the corporate values and environmental stewardship.
  • Proven ability to build constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, resolve conflict and manage relationships to deliver positive environmental outcomes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and presentation skills with proven ability to positively influence internal and external behaviours, attitudes and practices towards nature.
  • Ability to effectively develop, plan, prioritise and deliver a demanding workload, whilst maintaining established deadlines and procedures.
  • Sound understanding of natural resource management (NRM) theory and application.
  • Well-developed program / project management and problem-solving skills.
