Building & Environmental Health Surveyor - Full Time

BUILDING & ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SURVEYOR

FULL TIME

As the Building & Environmental Health Surveyor you will be responsible for assessing applications, undertaking certification and inspections, investigating compliance matters and providing professional advice to Council, industry and the community.

The role offers a broad scope of work across residential, commercial and industrial development. Providing the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while contributing to safe, compliant and well-planned development across the shire.

What we are looking for in you:

  • A technically capable and solution focused professional with relevant qualifications in building surveying, certification, environmental health or a related discipline and the ability to maintain the accreditation.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of Building Code of Australia, planning, public health and environmental legislation. Together with the ability to confidently interpret and apply legislation and technical requirements.
  • Proven experience across development assessment, building certification and inspections with the ability to work across residential, commercial and industrial development.
  • A strong regulatory and problem-solving mindset with experience investigating complaints, resolving compliance matters and achieving fair and practical outcomes.
  • Sound professional judgement, communication and report writing skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate complex matters and deliver practical outcomes.
