Waste Services Operartor

• Permanent full-time position in Waste Operations team
• Salary ranging between $69,684-$75,802, plus superannuation
• Plus, overtime, allowances and monthly ADO
• Closing Friday 23 October 2026 at 11.55pm

Based out of Notting Hill, the Waste Services Operator undertakes a variety of tasks to deliver responsive and quality waste services throughout the City of Monash, including street sweeping, litter bin clearance and other cleansing activities. The position reports to the Supervisor Asset Cleansing.

About the position

The successful candidate will have experience operating machines, working outdoors and collaborating in team environments. The successful applicant will take immense pride in their work and understand the importance of delivering high-quality waste services to the Monash community. The successful applicant will also be flexible and willing to learn, while sharing their knowledge and experience with colleagues.

Skills and Experience

• Trade of TAFE Certificate, industry-based training course, or equivalent relevant experience
• Waste and/or Cleansing operations or service industry experience desirable
• Proficiency in the operation of a Medium Rigid (minimum requirement) with experience in the operation of other plant and machinery (highly regarded)
• The ability to liaise and develop ongoing working relationships within a diverse team
• Customer service focus with a strong work ethic and attention to detail

Additional requirements

• Ability to work flexible work hours outside the normal spread of hours (6am - 6pm), including afternoon, early morning and weekend shifts as required
• Satisfactory Police Check
• Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment medical assessment
• Satisfactory Working with Children’s Check
