The Casual Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals, supporting kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our seniors.
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and cooking high-quality meals in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of food safety, hygiene practices and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Experience with menu preparation, stock control, ordering supplies and maintaining appropriate kitchen resources.
• Ability to prepare a diverse range of healthy, tasty and appealing meals to a high standard.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate. • Current satisfactory National Police Clearance.
• Current Western Australian “C” Class driver’s licence.
Desirable Criteria
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with seniors, staff and community members.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and working independently when required.
• Experience working in a community services, aged care, hospitality or similar environment.
• Experience catering for groups, community events or high-volume meal services.
• Experience preparing meals to meet dietary requirements, allergies and individual preferences.
• Experience supporting or training other kitchen staff.
• A passion for creating enjoyable food experiences and contributing to a welcoming community environment.
