About the role

Ready to make a splash? Lead two of the Clarence Valley's premier aquatic facilities.

Clarence Valley Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinator Aquatics to lead the operations of the award-winning Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre and the Yamba Community Pool. This is an exciting fixed-term opportunity through to 31 March 2028 for an aquatic professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences and ensuring safe, efficient and sustainable aquatic operations.

Reporting to the Manager Open Spaces and Facilities, you will oversee all aspects of the aquatic centres, including staff leadership, pool plant operations, facility maintenance, programming, budgeting, risk management and compliance. You will lead a team to ensure our facilities continue to provide highquality services that support the health, wellbeing and recreation of the Clarence Valley community.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated experience managing aquatic centres, strong leadership skills and a sound understanding of pool plant operations, legislative compliance and customer service. Relevant aquatic industry qualifications, including a current Pool Lifeguard and Aquatic Technical Operator certification, are essential.

• Answer the target questions - maximum 300 words each question

Q1. Please describe your experience in the operation and management of aquatic facilities. In your response, include your experience in leading teams, managing day-to-day operations, developing or improving programs and services, managing budgets and resources, and ensuring compliance with legislative and safety requirements.

Q2. Please detail your experience in relation to aquatic plant room operations. In your response, outline your knowledge and experience in maintaining water quality, operating and monitoring pool plant equipment, identifying and responding to plant or water quality issues, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and industry guidelines.

Q3. What experience have you had in monitoring expenditure against budget?

Q4. Please outline how you communicate with your team to explain roles, responsibilities and required outcomes.

Other important information

This position is located at Council's Clarence Regional Aquatic Centre and Yamba Community Pool, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
