About the role

This role plays a crucial part in the City’s success by optimising the promotion and management of City Venues Operations and the team. It involves overseeing the delivery of events, functions, conferences, and significant gatherings to ensure exceptional customer service and foster strong relationships with both new and existing clients, as well as internal stakeholders. 

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Overseeing venue booking systems to ensure timely and accurate information management.
  • Lead, support and guide a talented multi-disciplinary team with strategic direction.
  • Manage a diverse workforce including labour hire, contractors, external agents, large contracts (Performing Agents).
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational effectiveness, and efficiency through innovative approaches.
  • Proactively seek external funding, resource sharing and partnership opportunities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational coordination for the City Venues portfolio.

About you

Are you ready to join an amazing team?  We're looking for someone with a Certificate IV in Business or Events Management (or higher), or other relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant qualifications, skills, and/or experience. This role does require you to hold a current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
