Welder/Fabricator

Applications are invited for the position of Welder/Fabricator, based at Council's Inverell Works Centre. The successful applicant shall be responsible for or the maintenance repair and efficient performance of Council’s Plant Fleet and tools and carry out Light/ Medium Structure Fabrication.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate as Metal Fabricator or Fitter/Turner with welding experience;
• NSW Class HR Drivers Licence progressing to Class HC Drivers Licence;
• Confined Spaces Certificate;
• Working at Heights Certificate;
• National Licence to perform High Risk Work for Non-Slewing Mobile Crane (CN), Dogging (DG). Forklift (LF) and Elevating Work Platform;
• SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction card (‘White Card’); and 
• Areas of expertise to include all aspects of metal fabrication and welding:- Mig Welding- Stick Welding- Tig Welding- Repair of all types of mechanical components

Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.  The classification for the position will be up to Administrative/Technical/Trades Band 2, Level 2, Grade 10.  Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience and will be in a range from $1,310.30 to $1,411.12 gross per week.  In addition, a Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour will be paid where applicable.
