About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Finance Business Partner to play a key role in supporting Council's financial management and strategic decision-making. In this position, you will foster strong, collaborative relationships with managers, oversee and maintain financial systems, and ensure the accurate reconciliation of assets. You will also contribute to the preparation of budgets and statutory reports, playing a critical part in Council’s financial success.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial processes, reporting, and controls, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to lead training initiatives, review financial policies, and strengthen internal controls to drive operational efficiency.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting
  • Prepare annual financial statements and other statutory returns
  • Reconcile and report on Council's fixed asset register

The successful candidate will champion continuous improvement in relation to financial processes, work well in a team and have a desire to learn and grow in the position. The successful candidate will also require a CPA / CA qualification or be working towards their designation.
