Join our Transport team at Armidale Regional Council. We’re on the lookout for dependable, energetic individuals ready to make an impact as a General Hand.

Are you looking for a secure and stable opportunity with great hours, good pay and ongoing career opportunities? Do you like the idea of working outdoors and have pride in seeing where you can make a difference in your local community? At Armidale Regional Council we have multiple General Hand positions available across our Armidale and Guyra Roads Maintenance and Capital Works teams.

We are looking for the right people to join our team – those who have a solid work ethic, a drive to work on plant and machinery and who understand the importance of working together as a team.

In this role you will work in teams that are directly responsible for the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage, bridges, culverts and public spaces within our local council region. Experience on some plant/machinery is highly desirable, however we will support the right applicants in gaining the training and skills required. We do, however, expect you to have an MR learner’s permit prior to commencement and to have gained your truck licence within our three-month probation period, with further progression to gaining your HR licence.

As a bonus, working at Council you also get the benefit of a 9-day fortnight, Long Service Leave after 5 years, opportunity for overtime and flexible working provisions.

To understand what's required in this role, please make sure you check out the position description provided in the supporting documents linked to this ad.
