We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Industrial and Employee Relations Business Partner to join our dynamic team.

Working closely with the People and Performance Leadership team, People and Performance Specialised Business Partners along with relevant stakeholders, the successful candidate will join a team of passionate professionals who are genuinely engaged in making City of Salisbury a Great Place to Work.

The role:

Reporting to the People and Performance Operations Team Leader as part of a broader People & Performance team, this crucial position will offer expert advice, support, and direction on various workplace concerns. Responsibilities include conducting meticulous investigations into employee grievances, allegations of misconduct, harassment, and other workplace issues.

Duties:

  • Provide specialist employee relations advice and support, including the negotiation of Enterprise Agreements and other Agreements as required.
  • Be a part of the negotiation strategy to support all EA negotiations for the organisation.
  • Coordinate all aspects EA negotiations to administratively assist and drive optimal outcomes in way of communication planning and change management advice and execution.
  • Provide specialist industrial relations advice and support, including at an organisational SME level for our leadership team. Deliver specialist business partnering services to the organisation to drive capability and deliver business objectives connected to the overarching People Strategy
  • Provide quality and timely case management in relation to queries, complaints and issues that arise on an operational basis.
  • Deploy People and Performance initiatives across the organisation within the industrial and or employee relations frameworks.
  • Effective oral & written communication skills, including report writing, presentation, facilitation, consultation, negotiation, coaching and dispute resolution.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and ensure appropriate level of reporting is occurring to ensure metrics are being met within the IR / ER space.

Specialist Skills & experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations or related fields or a broad generalist experience in a similar role.
  • Proven success in the development, delivery and evaluation of human resource and industrial relations initiatives.
  • Effective oral & written communication skills, including report writing, presentation, facilitation, consultation, negotiation, coaching and dispute resolution.
  • High level of proven experience in industrial and employee relations.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement frameworks and principles and business change programs.
  • Develop communication plans to assist with change management initiatives.
