Job Overview

The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining and improving the technology infrastructure of the company. This includes ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and other IT systems, as well as providing technical support to employees. The IT Officer will also collaborate with other departments to identify and implement technological solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide day-to-day support for hardware, software, and network-related issues for employees. This includes troubleshooting and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
  • System Maintenance: Oversee the regular maintenance of IT systems, ensuring they are up-to-date, secure, and performing optimally.
  • Network Management: Manage the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring a stable and secure environment for communication and data transfer.
  • Software Management: Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems. Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Data Security: Implement and manage security protocols to protect the company’s data and IT assets. Regularly review and update security measures to safeguard against cyber threats.
  • Backup & Recovery: Oversee backup and recovery procedures, ensuring that critical data is regularly backed up and can be restored in case of system failure.
  • IT Asset Management: Keep inventory of IT assets, ensuring equipment is properly tracked and maintained.
  • Training & Development: Provide IT-related training and support to employees to help them use technology more effectively.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with third-party service providers and vendors for the procurement of IT equipment, software, and services.
  • IT Policy & Compliance: Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Familiarity with data security principles and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of database management and administration.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity protocols and best practices.
