Why This Role:

As an Inner-City Gardener, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the gardens and public spaces across some of the city’s most visited venues. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, dedicated to delivering high standards of care while ensuring the community and visitors enjoy beautifully kept environments.

What You’ll Do:

• You'll maintain and upgrade existing gardens and turfed areas, ensuring they remain vibrant and healthy.
• Ensure the public areas are presented safely and hygienically, making them enjoyable for everyone.
• Assist in setting up for events and supervise venues to maintain the integrity of Council property.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, always looking for ways to solve issues and create a positive experience for visitors.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in gardening, landscaping, and maintaining public spaces, with a love for plants, turf care, and the outdoors.
  • A strong eye for detail, ensuring gardens and areas meet high standards.
  • A customer-focused mindset, always aiming to provide outstanding service to the public and event users.
  • Ability to work well in a team but can also handle tasks independently.
  • Capable of performing manual labour, from mowing lawns and cleaning public areas to setting up venues and handling equipment.
