Are you an organised and community-minded project officer who enjoys improving systems, supporting positive change and working with a wide range of stakeholders? Banyule City Council are seeking a motivated and highly organised professional who is passionate about improving access to early childhood education and making a meaningful difference for children and families.

Why you'll love the role and what you’ll be doing:

Working within our Early Childhood Services team, you will support key projects linked to service improvement, policy and process review, communications, stakeholder engagement and data-informed decision making. You will also contribute to work associated with Victorian Government early childhood reforms, including Best Start Best Life, Pre-Prep implementation and changes to Priority of Access.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to projects, translating information clearly, consulting with stakeholders and making practical improvements that support better outcomes for the community. You’ll also be a strong communicator and relationship builder who can work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders. In this role you’ll:

• Coordinate and support projects that improve kindergarten registration and enrolment processes.
• Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating initiatives linked to early childhood reforms.
• Review and update policies, procedures, forms and operational documents.
• Develop clear communication materials for families, service providers and community stakeholders.
• Support engagement with internal teams, kindergarten providers, families and community organisations.

What you'll bring

• Demonstrated experience in project coordination, service improvement, policy development, or program implementation.
• Well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent written communication skills with experience preparing reports, policies, procedures, briefing papers and communication materials.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and consult with diverse stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
• Highly developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
• Knowledge of the Victorian early childhood sector, kindergarten registration processes and/or Best Start Best Life reforms is desirable.
• Sound computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and data management systems.
• Demonstrated understanding of equity, access and inclusion principles and their application in community services.

We offer:

• A temporary (to 30 April 2027, with possible extension to 31 May) part-time role working 22.8 hours per week. The days and hours are flexible, let’s talk about what works for both of us.
• Salary in the range $49,994.57 to $57,898.35 per annum (equivalent at full time for comparison is $83,324.29 to $96,497.25) dependent on qualifications/experience, plus super.
