Council is seeking motivated and innovative Road Safety Coordinator to join a small dynamic team. This is a wide role encompassing not only behavioural road safety education but also influencing the implementation of infrastructure to improve the safety of road users. The role works closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to enhance road safety in our community.

The role focuses on the development and delivery of road user safety and community road safety projects across the City for the Blue Mountains LGA. The role provides educational campaigns as part of the Local Government Road Safety Program to help reduce crashes and casualties on our local roads.

We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will bring the following to the role:

•    Tertiary qualifications in Road Safety, Behavioural Sciences, Civil Construction or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
•    Demonstrated ability to research, develop, implement and evaluate targeted behavioural programs for road user safety.
•    High level of experience in analysing, interpreting, and reporting statistical information.
•    Demonstrable ability to prioritise and project manage concurrent road safety/mobility programs and co-ordinate community consultation.
•    Well-developed oral and written communication, problem solving and negotiation skills.
•    Sound computer skills with experience in the use of spreadsheets, word processing and databases
•    Proven ability to work autonomously and cross collaboratively with internal teams, community groups, government agencies and other organisations.
•    Current Class C Drivers Licence and a willingness to work outside regular working hours on occasion

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $93,634 gross per annum
+ 11.5% superannuation 
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary (if eligible) 
+ annual award increase
