An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and motived person to join Council in the position of Labourer Water & Wastewater.
The primary purpose of the position is to perform daily works pertaining to all construction, maintenance and associated works regarding all water, waste water, sewerage, drainage and related furnishings.
Salary and conditions: The position is Grade 2 in the Council’s salary system (from $1,036.70 to $1,161.00 per week plus 12% superannuation and applicable allowances) depending upon qualifications and experience. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
The position is full time, 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.
The applicant should have a general knowledge of construction, maintenance and associated works regarding all water, wastewater, sewerage, drainage and related furnishings.
A class C licence, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a “Functional Assessment” which includes a Drug and Alcohol and a Hearing Test.
