• Permanent Full position
• Salary $71,774 + Superannuation + RDO + Overtime + industry training + weekly plant allowance $40p/w for suitably qualified operators

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic team player with a love of the outdoors to join the Horticultural Services Department as part of the Landscape and Playspaces team.

About the Position

As a Landscape and Playspace Officer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of Council's open space assets in a supportive team.

A typical week's jobs may include

• Installing and maintaining landscape assets such as reserve bollard fencing
• Playground inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Minor landscaping, unsealed path maintenance/construction
• Nature strip reinstatements
• Operation and minor maintenance of machinery/equipment

Skills and Experience

• To be successful in this role you are friendly, hardworking and have a willingness to learn.
• You enjoy working in a team environment.
• You have a love of working outdoors, maintaining landscape & playspace assets, and thrive on working within the community.

Requirements

• Current manual Victorian drivers' license
• Medium Rigid Truck license or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
• Some experience in landscape maintenance and equipment
• Pre-employment Medical Assessment
• Employee Working with Children’s Check
• Satisfactory National Police Check
• Valid Right to Work in Australia
• Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.

Desirable but not essential:

• Skid steer/ Loader license 
• Traffic management experience/accreditation 
• Playground inspection experience/accreditation
