THE POSITION:
This role assists with the supervision of operations at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) within the regional Albury Waste Management Centre. This includes managing onsite staff, labour hire and contractors. Also, the position is responsible for quality control and Work Health and Safety (WHS). 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and coordinate operations and maintenance of the MRF in accordance with the Albury Waste Management Centre EPA site licence.
  • Coordination and supervision of personnel, departments and contractors as required.
  • Oversee arrangement and coordination of transport and logistics for removal of materials offsite and manage stockpiles at the MRF.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and repair of plant and infrastructure.
  • Maintain access roads, signage, and traffic control to pre-determined standards.
  • Manage MRF operations efficiently and effectively. Enabling safe access by all users of the facility, at all times.
  • Take a leading role in continuous improvement in all facets of the operations on site.
  • Oversee completion of daily inspections of the facility and plant to evaluate current conditions and implement changes within delegated authority where required.
  • Demonstrate and facilitate a high standard of customer service and ensure public facilities are maintained.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
  • Manage MRF staff including task delegation, monitoring staff performance, training, and development, and developing a teamwork approach.
  • Oversee resourcing and rostering for continuity of MRF operations as a key aspect of position.
  • Assist with the coordination of contractors, suppliers and utility service providers.
  • Possess familiarity with production and processing and plant maintenance.
  • Supervise projects as directed by the Waste Management Supervisor
  • Maintain records as required and use appropriate computer software to execute required activities including, report writing and timesheets.
  • Assist with preparation of project estimates and quotations as requested.
  • Coordinate works with other work groups to ensure the most effective outcomes are achieved for the AlburyCity.
  • Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.
  • Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct.
