Diamantina Shire Council is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our Infrastructure Services team in Bedourie.
Reporting to the Building Maintenance Supervisor, the position is responsible for maintaining and repairing Council buildings, housing, facilities and minor infrastructure. The role suits a practical person who can work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver quality workmanship and customer service.

About you
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in general building, property or facilities maintenance, including repairs, renovations, refurbishment and the installation of fittings and fixtures.
You will be able to use a range of tools and equipment safely, work with minimal supervision and contribute positively as part of a team. Strong communication, customer service, initiative and problem-solving skills are also required.
Essential requirements include a trade certificate in carpentry, plumbing or electrical, and/or extensive relevant experience in building construction and facilities maintenance. Applicants must also hold a Queensland C Class Driver Licence or higher and a Construction Safety Induction Card.
Experience operating plant, equipment and power tools, an HR Truck Licence, forklift ticket, First Aid and CPR qualifications, and experience working at heights or in confined spaces are desirable.
