We are seeking a Manager Human Resources who is ready to take on their next challenge to assist in growing our talent and to build a thriving workplace and community at Paroo Shire Council.

The Council has a new state of the art Civic and Community Enterprise Centre as its regional office and a growing tourism industry which offers a wide choice of attractions and activities including the $12millon mineral-rich artesian Cunnamulla Hot Springs, Cunnamulla Fella and Historical Railway.

Located in Southwest Queensland, the Paroo Shire Council covers an area of 47,623 square kilometres with Cunnamulla being the hub of the Shire incorporating four beautiful rural towns, Cunnamulla, Yowah, Eulo and Wyandra and a growing tourism industry. Its unique name Cunnamulla, means ‘long stretch of water’, as the town sits on the edge of the picturesque Warrego River, a popular spot for boating, water sports, hot springs and fishing.

About the Position

The Manager Human Resources is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Council’s Human Resources functions including creative recruitment campaigns that match our unique charismatic town and providing opportunities for learning and organisational development to support our employees to thrive and grow their capabilities. The role will oversee payroll to ensure we are providing employees with their value for a job well done; collaborates on positive workplace health and safety programs and performance management to deliver on and celebrate our success as an organisation.

About You

You will be excited by the opportunity to step into a role that you can take to the next level as our organisation and community grows. You will be ready to provide your expert advice to our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and assist in building our strong workplace culture driving Council’s performance and service delivery. You will be able to respond quickly to challenges by being flexible and adaptable, as no two days are the same.

About Your Experience

You will have, or be working towards a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Behavioural Science or Business, or have a minimum of 5 years significant experience across all aspects of Human Resources.

It would be great if you had a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, had experience in workplace rehabilitation or a Diploma of Work Health and Safety however this is not essential, although you will need a current ‘C’ Class Queensland Drivers Licence as an essential requirement for this position.

We will offer you:

• A competitive remuneration package between $93,854.80 and $103,926 depending on experience and qualifications.
