About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by leading the Council’s strategy, planning and performance function and also working closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to oversee performance management frameworks, strategic alignment and integration with the Capital City Strategic Plan and fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve organisational outcomes. 

Role Accountabilities Include:

  • Develop and monitor the strategy, planning and performance across the organisation.
  • Lead the annual planning cycle aligned with the budget.
  • Use evidenced based research and data to support decision making.
  • Ensure the City delivers valued, efficient and effective services.
  • Seek external funding opportunities for priorities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement and accountability.

  • A Degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline, with extensive relevant practical experience. 
  • Demonstrated practical experience in strategic analysis, research, policy development and/or project management.
  • Experince in leading, coaching and managing high performing teams.
