ABOUT THE ROLE

Barkly Regional Council is looking for Municipal Workers to join our Elliott team! This hands-on role helps keep our town clean, safe, and looking great by delivering reliable municipal and essential services.

You’ll help maintain our parks, gardens, and community spaces by mowing, whipper snipping, and collecting rubbish, as well as cleaning public facilities, checking and maintaining equipment, and assisting with waste collection and other manual tasks. You’ll also operate and maintain irrigation systems to keep our green spaces healthy.

We’re looking for reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious people who take pride in their community. You may also be required to work across other Barkly communities as needed.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Reliable with the ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, manage work tasks as required, and problem-solve.
  • Driver’s Licence.
  • National Police Criminal History Check.
  • CPCWHS1001 Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card).

  • You have strong interpersonal skills and can engage respectfully with colleagues, customers, and community members.

THE FINER DETAILS

  • Casual position paying Level 4 Pay Point 1 Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2024.
  • Hourly Rate of $42.96 (including 25% casual loading).
  • 12% Superannuation.

ADDITIONAL INFO

No Employer-Provided Housing: The employee will be responsible for finding, renting, and paying for their own accommodation.

Barkly Regional Council requires that all applicants have a National Criminal History Check. You will be required to provide a recent National Criminal History Check prior to any offer of employment.

Barkly Regional Council requires the applicant to be able to produce or be able to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card – Northern Territory) prior to commencement.
