About the role

The position of Parking Officer is required to provide timely and quality regulatory action, quality and timely customer service, assist in delivering improvements to community safety and the environment and assist in creating value for the community. They are responsible for providing the local community with an effective front line regulatory service that protects community safety, public amenity and the environment by participating in both proactive and reactive programs and services under relevant legislation.

Key Duties

  • Undertake patrols of public roads, public carparks, private carparks (by agreement) and Council reserves to ensure sign posted restrictions under the Road Rules 2014, the Local Government Act 1993 or other relevant Legislation or Regulations are being adhered to.
  • Undertake patrols of public beaches, public reserves and other open spaces or assets to ensure the requirements of the Local Government Act 1993 or other relevant Legislation or Regulations are being adhered to.
  • Assist Rangers and Natural Environment Compliance Officers responding to abandoned items or vehicles in public places in accordance with the Public Spaces (Unattended Property) Act 2021.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate IV qualification in Local Government (Regulatory Services) OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience, combined with ongoing professional development.
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position sits between $61k - $73k plus 11.5% superannuation
  • This role is located at the Long Jetty Depot 
  • Successful candidates will be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus
