About the role

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is seeking a person who enjoys amix of office and outdoor work environments to join our Development and Growth Team as a Pool Inspector in Training.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the completion of private swimming pool safety barrier inspection programme within statutory requirements and timeframes. Relevant training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

Duties

• Managing daily appointments and conducting thorough inspections of private swimming pool barriers to assess compliance with the Building Act 2011, Building Regulations 2012 and relevant Australian Standards to support the safety of the community.
• Prepare, maintain, and meticulously document accurate records utilising mobile technology related to private swimming pool barrier and their condition.
• Provide expert information and technical advice to residents, builders, fencing companies, landscapers, and other stakeholders regarding swimming pool barriers.
• Problem-solve and provide advice while issuing notices related to swimming pool barriers.
• Adherence to City and service unit systems and processes

About You:

• Must possess C Class Drivers Licence.
• Be a collaborative team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment and liaising with people face-to-face.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and related documentation.
• Proficient knowledge of pool and spa safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with property owners and team members.
• Highly developed and accurate computer skills, particularly in data entry.
