The City is seeking a dynamic Procurement and Contracts Officer who is confident in engaging with a diverse range of people, including suppliers, City officers and management.
This role goes beyond raising purchase orders and facilitating the tender process; it offers a unique opportunity to be part of a supportive team that fosters a fun and collaborative atmosphere. As part of the City’s Finance Department, the Procurement and Contracts Officer coordinates the process by which the City’s largest suppliers are chosen and ensures compliance with local government regulations.
With $101 million in capital projects budgeted for the current financial year, the City has numerous exciting projects underway. We need a skilled procurement and contracts officer to help bring these projects to fruition. The successful candidate will guide City officers through the tender process for purchases more than $250,000 and review compliance of all City purchase orders to our purchasing policy. This role provides valuable insight into the wide and varied range of services the City offers, and on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate looking to increase their skills in the procurement space within the local government sector.
Desired candidates will have knowledge of the tender process, previous purchasing experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, a high level of attention to detail, and good time management.
