We are looking for a Product Owner - Integrations to join our Product Management Practice on a 12-month fixed term.

In this role, you will own and shape the integration roadmap and backlog that connects Workday, Datapay, and other key systems across the Auckland Council Group. You will work closely with architects, vendors, and delivery teams to ensure integrations are seamless, scalable, and aligned to programme goals.

You will be responsible for maximising the value and outcomes of our Workday and Datapay products. Collaborating with vendors, stakeholders, and delivery teams, you will shape the product roadmap, maintain a transparent backlog, and ensure the work delivered supports our people and organisational goals.

He kōrero mōu | About you

As a Product Owner - Integrations you will bring experience leading integration or technology-driven products, ideally within complex enterprise environments. You will be comfortable navigating multiple vendors and stakeholders, managing dependencies, and keeping everyone focused on value and outcomes.

You will:

  • Establish and communicate a clear roadmap for system connections and dependencies
  • Own and prioritise the integration backlog across Workday, Datapay, and downstream systems
  • Actively manage dependencies across teams, ARTs, and vendors
  • Partner with the Integrations Architect and SMEs to align asks into a single prioritised backlog
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure integration outcomes are met
  • Provide stakeholders and leadership with clear visibility of progress, risks, and trade-offs

As an experienced Product Owner - HRIS or Payroll systems (ideally with Workday or Datapay) you will have a proven ability to balance competing priorities while keeping focus on customer and business value. You will:

  • Prioritise work to maximise value and outcomes for Council and its people
  • Establish and communicate clear product roadmaps aligned to strategic goals
  • Maintain a transparent backlog (Epics, Features, Stories) as the single source of truth for progress
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure work is integrated into the backlog and aligned with priorities
  • Engage stakeholders effectively, balancing competing needs and dependencies
  • Adapt quickly as priorities and requirements evolve
