Job Description
The role of Ranger is responsible for providing the local community with an effective regulatory service that meets statutory obligations and reduce adverse impacts on the local area by enforcing applicable legislation and Council’s policies. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
Applicant Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Certificate IV qualification in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or
demonstrated experience, combined with ongoing professional development.
• Current Class C drivers License.
• Valid Construction General Induction Card - NSW Workcover or equivalent to
have a willingness to obtain
• Accreditation to undertake micro chipping of animals
• Demonstrated experience of being able to work as part of a team and
autonomously, undertake duties in a professional, consistent manner to
corporate requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
with staff and the public
• Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations, interviewing offenders
and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated experience in dog, cat, cattle and horse handling
• Demonstrated experience in Ranger duties, policing or similar regulatory
position
Offer Details
The commencing salary for this position is up to $80,030k Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $92,727k on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation
• We have a permanent full-time role available
• This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
• This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided when one becomes available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy. In the meantime, either an alternate pre-used vehicle or a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week is temporarily applied for this position due to ongoing issues with supply for new vehicles.
