Are you mechanically minded? Looking for a different career? We are looking for a plant operator to join our operational area. We are looking for reliable, dependable, and flexible individual to join the civil construction team to safely undertake plant operator and maintenance duties to complete program objectives for the maintenance and construction of Council’s roads and drainage network in accordance with Council policy and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, a willingness to follow instructions, a team player and proven experience that support the operations and maintenance relating to plant operations, labouring and other works including but not limited to Council’s roads, drainage and footpath assets.
We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will bring the following to the role:
You will have:
• Demonstrated experience in road construction, maintenance procedures, drainage works, other civil works & concrete works including labouring duties
• Demonstrated experience through certification and/or training in the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Current MR licence
• Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills to follow written communication and complete standard forms.
• Proven ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound experience in the use of computers including Microsoft excel, Microsoft word and Outlook
• Knowledge of and commitment to Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity principles
• Commitment to customer service
• General Induction Certificate (White Card)
Remuneration: base salary commencing at $59,414 gross per annum
+ adverse working conditions allowance of 2590 per annum
+ 11.5% superannuation
+ performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary (if eligible)
+ annual award increase
