1 x Perm Full Time - 35 hours, 5 days per week (over a 7-day bandwidth)
Salary: $85,925.08 to $94,151.91 + 11.5% super

About the Role:

The Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is a cultural facility for Liverpool City Council. The Centre, based in Southwest Sydney, boasts eight galleries across two sites (Casula Powerhouse and Yellamundie Library) and two performance spaces, including a 322-seat theatre and a flexible performance space, which can seat up to 100 people. We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team as Registrar. 

The position is a crucial role in the Curatorial and Collections team through coordinating the registration, documentation, movement, preservation, and storage of all moveable objects for the Liverpool City Council Art Collection and temporary contemporary art loans for Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and Yellamundie Library, in line with professional best practice standards for museums and galleries. The position needs to have experience in collection management, exhibition procedures related to the delivery, handling and care of artworks.

About You:

• Arts Degree and/or equivalent experience
• Current Class C Drivers Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in the management of Collections and temporary loans of moveable objects for exhibition projects.
• Knowledge and experience of exhibition development and management processes.
• Knowledge and experience of risk management and disaster preparedness.
• Experience in the development of management strategies, collection policies and procedures as required.
• Experience in managing a team including casual staff, volunteers and interns ensuring that objects are handled, stored and transported according to current gallery/museum standards.
• Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and a Collection Management System (preferably Vernon CMS).
• Proven ability to successfully work on multiple projects and tasks at once and deliver projects within budget and agreed timelines.
