The Opportunity
Council is seeking a candidate with previous experience in civil road construction and maintenance to assist in road infrastructure maintenance operations, perform tasks associated with road defect identification, and maintenance and repair activities to recognised industry quality standards.
  
The RMPC Operations officer’s primary responsibility is to assist in the delivery of the Road Maintenance Performance Contract (RMPC) and other road maintenance requirements within the operations department.
  
To be successful, you will demonstrate personal attributes that are consistent with Councils values of Integrity, People Focused, Excellence and Sustainability and you will possess the following:
  
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in maintenance of Transport Infrastructure including but not limited to roads, stormwater assets and signage;
  • Experience in maintenance planning and defect management;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a small team of operators and labourers, including estimating and costs control activities;
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and oversee subcontractor;
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety and the ability apply WHS and environmental protection requirements;
  • Computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office products, computerised maintenance management system and computer peripherals;
  • Sound knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of legislative requirement within a local government context;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and communicate maintenance requirements and risks to external and internal stakeholders; and
  • Exposure to service delivery contracts and ability to acquire knowledge regarding contract performance and compliance

General Salary Information

Stream A Level 3+ Construction $73,624 per annum plus superannuation.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements 

Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
