As the Section Manager Governance you will lead multiple teams to provide specialist services to the business and the Council. You are a leader who has demonstrated ability in providing support and feedback to develop a diverse team of professionals. You will have experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks and policies that promote transparency, accountability and ethical conduct.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • tertiary qualifications in governance, business, law or contemporary experience in developing, managing and delivering corporate governance and business strategies
  • extensive experience in a similar corporate or local government leadership role in a large and diverse organisation
  • extensive experience in developing strategies, policies and procedures that deliver exceptional corporate governance and promote innovation
  • extensive experience in applying legislation and providing high quality and impartial advice and corporate governance services within a political environment
  • proven exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with extensive experience in establishing and maintaining positive, collaborative and service-oriented relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on performance, quality outcomes and a customer focus
  • ability to adopt a flexible approach in working hours to enable attendance at Council and Committee meetings.

Other important information

  • A competitive salary package is offered for this role due to the additional hours required outside of usual work hours with a salary package of up to $167k plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • This is a permanent full-time role.
  • This role will be able to access a 19 day month.
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role.
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use. Alternatively, a vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week ($10,780k per annum) is also available.

Council will be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
