About the role
This position is responsible for assisting the Senior Survey Officer in the development and delivery of engineering projects and services. This includes tasks such as liaising with internal staff and the general public, investigations, surveying, design setouts, drone surveys and videos, heavy vehicle permits and stakeholder consultation.
Duties
Key responsibilities include:
Survey as constructed and set out in relation to the coordination and delivery of Engineering, Planning, Water Services and major projects on behalf of The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder.
Implement design setout of in house design and liaise with the design team and other departments to deliver projects.
Undertake investigation of and report upon matters requiring engineering solutions as required by the Manager Engineering.
Assist with and provide advice based on judgement and initiative to the ManagerEngineeringServicesand internal staff in relation to design and construction requirements relating to road, drainage, traffic and other municipal and civil projects
Heavy vehicle permits –Assist with managing, approve and co-ordinate the heavy vehicle permits applications in consultation with MRWA. Co-ordinate the necessary tasks/actions required with the engineering team to investigate. Follow up complaints from the community and co-ordinate police actions with MRWA.
Implement Drone feature survey and video services for utilization in engineering, planning and publicity purposes.
Undertake survey in support of GIS Mapping System & Asset Management
Who we are Looking for:
To be considered for this position, you will need:
Assoc. Dip engineering surveying or with substantial experience and competence in surveying.
Comprehensive knowledge of verbal and written communication skills, public relations, interpersonal skills, time management and organization skills
High level of surveying knowledge, statutory regulations, policies, practice & procedures of civil engineering projects.
Application of higher level of discipline knowledge in computers and software relevant towards the achievement of position objectives.
Understand all areas of survey and drone flying equipment operations.
Current satisfactory National Police Clearance
Current WA “C” Class driver’s license and applicable commercial drone license to fly close to an airport
