THE POSITION:

The Fairfield City Swim Academy is seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual to join its innovative team in the position of Swim Academy Assistant. The successful applicant will assist in organising, implementing and conducting the Swim Academy's services and programs including Learn to swim classes, squad coaching, school programs etc.  You will also be involved in the processing of all Aquatic/waterpark program enquiries and bookings, display and maintain a high standard of professionalism in the position, and perform administrative duties related to the role and the Swim Academy Team. The position provides the opportunity for instructing and administration offering a unique and rewarding role with possibility of further development/progression within an award winning learn to swim program. The assistants role is a unique position providing a combination of swimming teaching, administration and assist in staff supervision.

ESSENTIAL:

When applying for the position it is necessary to describe the level of knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience required for the position.

  • Relevant industry qualifications Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate, CPR Certificate and Working with Children’s Check.
  • Strong understanding of the Aquatic and Learn-to-Swim industry.
  • Experience in a similar environment.
  • Moderate Computer Skills

DESIRABLE:

Describe additional knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience that would be beneficial to the position.

  • Relevant industry qualifications in extension Certification eg Access and Inclusion, Infants and Pre School or Competitive Strokes
  • Coaching Qualification.
  • Assessor Certification

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 38 hours per week
  • This position is a Grade 2 Salary range is $62,201 p.a. with progression on demonstrated competencies, plus weekend penalty rates
  • Sick Leave and Annual Leave
  • Uniform provided
  • Hours of Work: Between 7am to 9pm Monday to Sunday. However, commencing and finishing times will be flexible and will depend on operational needs.
