Parkes Shire Council is offering traineeship opportunities for highly motivated and enthusiastic people looking to gain on-the-job experience and practical knowledge whilst working towards a nationally accredited qualification.
The Trainee Early Childhood Educator with Central West Childcare Services will be an active contributor to the Children's Services Team and provide high quality inclusive early childhood education and care to children of all abilities and their families. You will gain a nationally accredited Qualification in Early Childhood over a two year period while working and being paid under the traineeship band of the Local Government (State) Award.

Parkes Shire Council is offering cadetship, apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for highly motivated and enthusiastic people looking to gain on-the-job experience and practical knowledge whilst working towards a nationally accredited qualification through a Registered Training Organisation.
The CAT Program provides you with the opportunity to gain on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring from experienced professionals, with all training and study costs paid for by Council. The programs run from two (2) to eight (8) years in duration, depending on the level of qualification being undertaken.
Our cadet, apprentice and trainee positions are advertised online from August to September each year, with successful applicants commencing employment the following February. Vacancies vary from year to year depending on our operational requirements.

As a trainee you will be employed under the Traineeship Band of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The commencement level will be based on age and any prior qualifications/experiences. You will progress through the traineeship band on an annual basis dependent on satisfactory work performance and course progression.
