The role
We are looking for individuals who have a commitment to safety, work with integrity and a desire to make a difference in our community. As a Swim School Instructor, you will help children and adults of all abilities, learn the lifesaving skill of swimming!

No experience or qualifications? We are providing a rare opportunity for you to be trained and gain a new accreditation for FREE!! 

Must be available: 8am – 5pm on both Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd November 2024 to complete the Royal Life Swim Teacher Course.


Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Effectively deliver lessons in line with Council’s Swim School Teachers Manual (under supervision).
  • Set up and pack up all equipment in a timely and safe manner.
  • Actively participate in Swim School Team Member in house training.

To be successful in this position, you will need to:

  • Demonstrate your ability to swim 50m (25m Freestyle and 25m Form Stroke).
  • Demonstrate your ability to teach children in a group class environment.
  • Have excellent verbal communication, customer service, time management and organisational skills.
  • Have a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Be available to complete your training hours during these times:
    • Weekday shifts: 9am-12pm, 3pm-7pm
    • Weekend shifts: 8:30am-2pm

Remuneration

  • Traineeship hourly rate: $22-$26 per hour (age dependent) + 11.5% super.
  • On completion of the course requirements and training, you will become a fully accredited Swimming Instructor with your hourly rate increasing to $38 per hour.
  • Penalty rates apply for weekends.
  • Ability to apply for higher hourly pay rate after 12 months of accredited employment.
