About the position

The Trainee Water and Wastewater Operator will assist in the operation and maintenance of Council's wastewater system treatment facilities and pumping stations under direction from the supervisor and in accordance with their licence conditions. Work includes assistance in the maintenance, construction and repair of water and sewer infrastructure and/or assets.

About you

This is an exciting opportunity to complete a 2 year Traineeship undertaking a Certificate III in Water Operations. The salary range will be dependent upon traineeship conditions. To be successful in the role you will need: 

  • Higher School Certificate or Equivalent;
  • Current NSW Drivers License;
  • A requirement of this role is to complete a Certificate III in Water Operations;
  • Fundamental communication, literacy, numeracy and computer skills;
  • Demonstrated Interest in gaining a career in Local Government;
  • Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities (outlined in the Position Description); and
  • Demonstrated Fundamental key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the Position Description).

We offer

  • Trainee Water and Wastewater Operator Traineeship opportunities are available to be complete on a full-time basis, as a 2 year term contract, at 38 hours per week.
  • The opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Water Operations (a requirement of this role).
  • Salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience
  • Plus 11.5% superannuation
