The Opportunity

Melton City Council is seeking Early Years Casual Qualified Vacation Care Educators those who can work as a person in charge, to support the day-to-day running of the program, to plan, develop and deliver a high-quality Vacation Care Program.

The successful applicant will need to cater to the needs of primary school aged children in the City of Melton in accordance with relevant legislation, guidelines and policies of the Local, State and Commonwealth governments

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, record, maintain and evaluate individual and group developmental needs, using the systems and tools in place for the educational programs and observations for children in conjunction with Vacation Care Supervisor and Staff.
  • Provide appropriate activities and support to children with additional needs, including liaising with families and any external or internal agencies to develop aligned support plans and shared strategies to aid inclusion.
  • Adequate supervision of all children attending the program at all times made aware of all occupational, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with children and their families in regard to engaging the child’s participation, enabling their voice, supporting the child’s development and involvement within the Program.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Applicants must hold or be enrolled to study either a relevant tertiary qualification at Diploma level or higher in Out of School Hours Services, Recreation, youth, teaching or related discipline.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and current Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Current Anaphylaxis Management and Adrenaline auto-injection device training.
  • Current Emergency Asthma Management Training.
