ABOUT THE ROLE

The City Economy Unit of Liverpool City Council is responsible for marketing Liverpool as a prime business destination, working with existing businesses in Liverpool to assist firms grow, innovate and improve their competitiveness and developing and implementing an Economic Development Strategy that stimulates commercial activity.

The role focuses on effectively contributing to the growth of Liverpool’s visitor economy through the development of a Destination Management Plan and implementation of all associated activities. This includes being a key specialist for the tourism, hospitality, and retail industries.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in tourism, marketing, public relations, business/economic development or relevant experience in tourism-related business or public sector agency
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in tourism, economic development, marketing or business-related discipline
  • High level of experience in preparing strategies and policies, internal and external correspondence, reporting, and delivering high quality presentations, business documents and project documentation
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating industry events, forums, workshops, and the like
  • High level of experience in engaging stakeholders, and developing and maintaining productive partnerships
  • Experience in grants development for visitor economy outcomes
  • Proven experience in delivering projects on time, with limited resources
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • High level knowledge of destination marketing
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing correspondence, records management and use of a centralised database or like
