About the role
Our People, Culture and Safety team is seeking a full-time Work Health and Safety Training Officer to be based in Moama. In this essential role, you will support the WHS Coordinator with the development, implementation, and review of WHS Policies, procedures and practices. The role will involve managing the Learning Management System and coordinating staff training requirements while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

What you'll be doing

  • Design and implement comprehensive health and safety training programs to address the needs of our diverse workforce
  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions on a range of workplace health and safety topics
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making continuous improvements
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on occupational health and safety compliance
  • Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture across the organisation
  • Maintain detailed records and reporting on all health and safety training activities

Ideal Candidate Profile - What we're looking for

  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and a commitment to WHS practices.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field (Desirable)
