Croydon Shire Council is seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Officer to lead the development of a strong safety culture across the organisation. Reporting across Council's operations, the Work Health & Safety Officer is responsible for leading Council's workplace health and safety function.
Develop and implement WHS systems, policies and procedures, provide expert advice to managers and staff, coordinate compliance activities, and promote a proactive safety culture across all departments. Working closely with employees at every level of the organisation, you will help ensure Council continues to provide a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
This role is ideal for a motivated safety professional who enjoys building relationships, driving continuous improvement and delivering practical solutions that make a genuine difference.
• Lead Council's WHS programs and initiatives
• Develop safety systems, policies and procedures
• Support compliance, audits and risk management
• Promote a positive workplace safety culture
• Provide expert WHS advice and training
• Diploma or Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
• Current White Card
• Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice
• Experience developing practical workplace safety solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to influence positive organisational change
Croydon Shire Council offers a competitive remuneration package of up to $123,000 per annum (dependent on experience), including:
• 12% superannuation
• Five weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
