Advocacy

Advocacy to the state and federal governments is an important aspect of the work Bass Coast Shire Council do to secure resources and support for community projects and infrastructure. By effectively communicating local needs and priorities, Council can influence policy decisions, funding allocations and take actions that directly benefit community, businesses, organisations and visitors

Federal Advocacy

Council advocates to the Australian Federal Government to amplify community voices on key issues. Our strategy promotes:

State Advocacy

Council advocates to the Victorian State Government to amplify community voices on key issues. Our strategy promotes:

Advocacy Success

Council continues to be successful in advocating for policy change and funding to help Bass Coast thrive.

Australian and Victorian Government funding helps to realise key projects including new sporting, cultural, education and health facilities. Recent successful grant funding has been achieved for Wonthaggi Streetscapes stage 1 and 2, award-winning Cultural and Community Centre; Berninneit in Cowes, Wonthaggi to Inverloch Shared Path and Cowes to Ventnor Foreshore Trail.
