About the role:
With very early starts, you will play a key role in servicing public bins across town. This includes placing public bins on the verge for collection, returning them to their surrounds once emptied, repairing residents’ bins, and delivering and removing event bins as required.
By helping to keep the City’s pristine tourist sites clean and safe, you will make an important contribution to delivering high-quality waste management services for the City of Busselton.
Reporting to the Waste Leading Hand, you will work a range of shifts, including very early starts that may begin from 2am during peak periods, as well as weekends and public holidays. You will also work across both the Busselton and Dunsborough locations.
What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out bin repairs and cleaning of event bins.
Delivering event bins when required.
Supporting the city’s waste team and contractors with public waste and recycling bin emptying.
Maintaining clean, and safe tourist locations.
Performing preventative maintenance and daily checks on equipment.
Contributing to a positive, team-oriented safe work environment.
What you’ll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the City’s Values and be able to demonstrate the below competencies:
Hold a current C Class Driver’s Licence
Ability to work early starts, weekends or public holidays as required
Be physically fit, safety-focused and committed to teamwork
Pre-employment requirements:
Current C Class Licence
National Police Clearance not more than six months old
White Card
Proof of right to work in Australia
Hours and conditions:
This role is casual and the working days and times will vary, but will include early mornings and weekends.
