As the Operator Multi Skilled - Water Wastewater, you will play a key role in the construction, maintenance and renewal of Council's water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. Working within a skilled and collaborative team, you will undertake labouring duties and operate a variety of plant and heavy vehicles to deliver essential community infrastructure projects.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will provide on-site leadership when required, coordinating small teams, supporting the development of fellow operators and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with Council standards. This hands-on role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of critical water and wastewater services across the Armidale region

About You

You are a highly skilled and safety-focused operator with extensive experience in the construction and maintenance of water, wastewater and civil infrastructure. With strong proficiency operating a range of plant and equipment including excavators, loaders, backhoes, skid steers and rollers, you take pride in delivering high-quality work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You are a proactive team player who is equally comfortable working independently or leading a small crew when required. You have a practical understanding of WHS requirements, traffic management and site risk management, and you lead by example in promoting a positive safety culture. With strong communication skills and a commitment to developing others, you enjoy sharing your knowledge, mentoring team members and contributing to successful project outcomes. Your reliability, leadership capability and dedication to continuous improvement make you a valued member of any field-based team
