The opportunity

As an Events Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting community-led events and delivering Council's diverse events program. Working within the Events and Cultural Venues unit, you'll guide event organisers through Council processes, coordinate event delivery from planning through to completion, and help create engaging experiences that bring the community together. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and collaborative events professional who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and thrives in a dynamic environment.

What you’ll do

• Coordinate and deliver assigned events from planning and preparation through to event delivery and pack-down.
• Provide advice and support to event organisers on permits, risk management and Council requirements. 
• Act as the primary contact for community groups, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Supervise on-site event operations, contractors, volunteers and casual staff.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on event outcomes and continuous improvements.

What you need to succeed

• Qualification in event management, project management, arts and cultural management, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering events end-to-end.
• Strong project coordination skills, including budgets, schedules and risk management.
• Knowledge of event permitting processes and public space event requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements 

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License. 

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
