Job Description

About the role

A 2-year fixed-term contract position, the Integrated Water Management Officer supports the coordination and delivery of integrated water management initiatives across the East Gippsland region on behalf of the Integrated Water Management (IWM) Forum and its member organisations. Working closely with local government, water authorities, Traditional Owners and other regional partners, the role helps drive collaborative projects and activities that improve water outcomes for communities, the environment and the region.

This role contributes to the development of shared regional initiatives by identifying funding opportunities, supporting grant applications and helping secure investment for priority projects. The Integrated Water Management Officer also assists with the delivery and reporting of funded programs, facilitates collaboration across partner organisations, and supports the successful implementation of projects that deliver lasting environmental, social and economic benefits for East Gippsland.

As a 2-year fixed-term position, the role will focus on advancing priority regional initiatives, supporting project delivery and funding outcomes, and strengthening collaborative partnerships to achieve sustainable water management outcomes across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support delivery of the East Gippsland Integrated Water Management (IWM) Program and Strategic Direction Statement.
• Build strong partnerships with government, agencies and stakeholders to strengthen IWM outcomes.
• Contribute to IWM projects, programs and water efficiency initiatives across the region.
• Coordinate collaboration between councils, water corporations, Traditional Owners, CMAs and state agencies.
• Provide advice to support IWM Forum objectives and priorities.
• Assist with the planning, design and delivery of collaborative IWM projects.
• Develop funding applications, project budgets, risk registers and supporting documentation.
• Support grant submissions on behalf of IWM Forum member organisations.
• Ensure projects deliver environmental, social, cultural, community and economic benefits.
• Support implementation of regional IWM strategies and externally funded programs.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on project progress, budgets, outcomes and funded activities.
• Provide administrative support, including meeting coordination, reporting and grant administration.
• Manage workload effectively, exercise sound judgement and maintain high-quality, timely work.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and collaborative workplace culture aligned with EGW values and behaviours.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, risk management, record-keeping, privacy and confidentiality requirements.

* This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 3 position, $72,912.23 - $94,710.54 per annum

* Plus 12% employer superannuation contribution. We reserve the right to remunerate successful candidates within the span of this classification dependant on demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications.

Desired Skills and Experience

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. A relevant certificate qualification, ideally combined with relevant employment experience and passion to learn.
2. Ability to analyse and collate data and information to prepare reports and funding applications to a high standard for internal and external use.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills ensuring the ability to manage and communicate with individuals at all organisational levels combined with the ability to develop effective partnerships, with government and non-government agencies and community groups and individuals.
4. Highly motivated person with well-developed organisational, prioritisation, time management and project management skills.
5. A positive attitude toward personal development including being accountable, innovative, passionate and united to achieve corporate objectives.
