The Details:

Work with our broader Roads and Drains team and play a key role within one of our asphalt maintenance crews.

In this hands on position, you’ll support essential road repair and maintenance activities that help keep our local road network safe, reliable and in top condition. 

Working collaboratively within a team environment, you will:

• carry out road remediation tasks such as pothole patching, edge repairs and rectification of road failures
• operate a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment relevant to asphalt maintenance
• assist with asphalt truck operations, including driving duties as required
• safely handle and dispose of materials and waste generated through maintenance activities
• support the wider Roads and Drains team to deliver maintenance outcomes across the region

About you

Ideally you will bring recent experience in road maintenance or construction, particularly working with asphalt.

We’re also looking for someone with:

• a current Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence or higher
• a Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
• recent experience in a manual labour role and the physical capability to perform manual tasks safely
• strong teamwork skills and a collaborative approach
• clear and effective communication skills
