The Role

Lead organisational transformation. Build capability. Shape the future.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic transformation leader to help shape the future of the City of Greater Bendigo - as our Lead Transformation Specialist (advertised as "Lead Organisational Transformation").

Working across the organisation, you will lead strategic transformation initiatives that improve how we deliver services, strengthen organisational capability and enable better outcomes for our community.

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of the City of Greater Bendigo. You will partner with leaders across the organisation to establish a strategic transformation pipeline, identify opportunities to improve productivity and long term financial sustainability, and lead cross organisational initiatives that improve services, redesign operating models, strengthen organisational capability and deliver measurable benefits for the community.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for organisational transformation, strategic improvement, operating model design, service improvement, capability uplift, benefits realisation, and the practical application of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex organisational transformation, business improvement or organisational change initiatives that deliver sustainable outcomes while successfully bringing people on the transformation journey

  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to translate complex organisational challenges and insights into practical transformation opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships, facilitate co design and engage stakeholders to deliver successful transformation outcomes

  • Proven experience leading, coaching and developing multidisciplinary teams while building long term organisational capability and embedding continuous improvement

  • The ability to establish strategic transformation pipelines, identify and prioritise improvement opportunities, and deliver measurable productivity improvements, benefits realisation and long term organisational value

  • Demonstrated ability to establish, measure and evaluate outcomes to ensure transformation initiatives deliver tangible organisational benefits

  • Proven ability to apply contemporary transformation methodologies, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to improve organisational performance

  • Highly developed leadership, communication and influencing skills, with a demonstrated track record of co designing solutions, facilitating collaboration and building trusted relationships across all organisational levels

The following experience will be highly regarded:

  • Leading organisation wide transformation, business improvement, organisational design, service redesign and operating model transformation, particularly within local government, the public sector or not for profit environments

  • Applying Lean, Lean Six Sigma, SAFe, ISO 21502, ISO 56000 or other contemporary transformation frameworks

  • Applying digital innovation, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to improve organisational performance
